Yup - my little boy is no longer little. He is 5 years old.
Last night we celebrated with a dinner out at Applebee's. Grandpa took him out to dinner. The waitresses sang to him (loud - so he plugged his ears). And he had a birthday sundae for his dessert.
On Tuesday night, when I was putting him to bed, I had said good night my four year old. I was told to not call him four, he was five. (This is the night before his birthday, mind you.) I compromised... good night my almost five year old. No Mama, call me FIVE!!!
So Wednesday morning I woke him up with kisses all over his cheeks, and the "Happy Birthday" song. He is very happy to be 5. Saturday we will have friends over to celebrate in style. Bring on the cupcakes and ice cream!!
